Sixthman Announces Rombello: newest fleet member!
February 16th, 2011
On September 29, 2011, Sixthman will embark on its newest musical adventure, Rombello. The floating festival will feature Slightly Stoopid, Michael Franti & Spearhead, and G. Love & Special Sauce, with special guests Citizen Cope (solo), Brett Dennen, Gaelic Storm, Jukebox the Ghost, and many more to be announced soon. Rombello will sail from Tampa to Cozumel and back on Carnival Inspiration, returning on October 3, 2011.
Sixthman's aim with Rombello is to provide another destination for fans of the best live bands out there. Music will play from morning until late into the night, and there will be plenty of opportunities to relax by the water, enjoy 24-hour food and an onboard casino, meet new people, spend time with old friends, and dance under the stars in the middle of the Caribbean.
With a reputation for bringing great artists together and setting the stage for unforgettable collaborations, Sixthman is especially excited about the Rombello lineup. Slightly Stoopid, consummate road warriors, continue to build a huge grassroots following with engaging live shows. Michael Franti & Spearhead, who just released The Sound of Sunshine last year, wowed the crowds on a Sixthman cruise in 2010, and we cannot wait to have them back. G. Love & Special Sauce have had a loyal fan base since the mid-nineties; G. Love is releasing Fixin' To Die, produced by Seth and Scott Avett, this February.
Citizen Cope will be singing his modern day blues during solo sets, Brett Dennen - who is preparing for a new release in April 2011 - will bring his troubadour tunes to the stage, and Gaelic Storm - Sixthman vets - will surely create a Celtic rumpus on the ship that may or may not include crowd surfing. Jukebox the Ghost just performed on their first Sixthman cruise - Ships and Dip 4 - earlier this month, and will be an awesome addition to Rombello.
Sixthman founder and CEO Andy Levine says of Rombello, "This vacation promises to deliver amazing festival moments and features a collection of dynamic bands heralded as the best live performers today." Sixthman pioneered the music theme cruise movement and has hosted more than 30 full-ship charters since 2001.
Prices for Rombello start at $699 per person; the price includes admission to all entertainment on board, meals, and all shipboard activities and amenities. See rombello.com for more information.
