Lynyrd Skynyrd, Elvis, and BNL add artists to their Sixthman cruises!
September 28th, 2010
We have added a bunch of new artists to Barenaked Ladies' Ships and Dip 4, Lynyrd Skynyrd's Simple Man Cruise, and The Elvis Cruise! Also, read below for some exciting news about Cayamo!
Ben Kweller, Angel Taylor, Jason Plumb, and Mike Evin have been added to Ships and Dip 4 with Barenaked Ladies! Texas born and bred, singer-songwriter Ben Kweller has been sweeping the nation alongside Barenaked Ladies on their latest tour. Angel Taylor has also been bringing her beautiful songs to the Barenaked Ladies tour; she was noticed early and became one of VH1's You Outta Know artists as her career was kicking off. Jason Plumb has been called a "soulful...pop maestro," and this Saskatchewan-based singer-songwriter has a wealth of musical masterpieces that he will be performing on the cruise. Mike Evin is a lover of classic pop music, old folk and blues music, and his wide array of listening habits has influenced his writing; he and his piano create vibrant tunes that will delight the Ships and Dippers.
Brantley Gilbert and Black Stone Cherry have been added to Simple Man Cruise 2011. Brantley Gilbert is from the small town of Jefferson, GA; it doesn't get more southern, or more rock than Brantley, and his country-tinged sound is the perfect fit for the cruise. Black Stone Cherry will join us for their first Simple Man Cruise & bring such intense rock & roll vibes, guests will be up all night long!
Performing as part of Elvis' Imperials during The Elvis Cruise 2010, we're so happy to have Bill Baize on board this year. Elvis Presley once said of Bill "He has one of the most splendid voices in the world." Bill, an ordained minister, has performed with gospel quartets like the Echoes of Calvary, The Illinoisans, The Trailsmen Quartet, and the Smitty Gatlin Singers. Also, one of Elvis' favorite jewelers, Lowell Hayes will be joining us on The Elvis Cruise. Lowell will be in the Elvis Store on the ship to share his stories about Elvis along with some of his latest creations. Elvis fans can catch Jody McDowell late night, and see 2010 Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest winner Justin Shandor shaking his hips on the Lido Deck.
There are LESS THAN 100 cabins left on Cayamo! Cayamo is a one-of-a-kind Americana and singer-songwriter festival that will feature performances by such folk legends and favorites as John Prine, Steve Earle and The Dukes, Indigo Girls, Patty Griffin, Brandi Carlile, Buddy Miller, Richard Thompson, Loudon Wainwright III, Colin Hay, Allison Moorer, and many more! The cruise on Norwegian Pearl sails from Miami to Tortola, St. Croix, and Great Stirrup Cay from February 13-20, 2011.
