Top 11 Frequently Asked Questions

1) Do I need a Passport?

Sixthman recommends everyone get a Passport, but U.S. citizens are only required to show proof of citizenship (such as an original or certified copy of a birth certificate) and a government-issued photo ID (such as a driver’s license). U.S. Alien Residents need a valid Alien Resident Card. Canadian citizens must present a valid passport. Non-U.S. citizens need a valid passport and a valid, unexpired U.S. Multiple Re-entry Visa, if applicable. U.S. citizens may present a valid U.S. passport when traveling via air, land or sea between the U.S. and the Western Hemisphere countries.

2) How do I add a guest to my reservation, or let someone add me to their reservation?

If you are the lead passenger with an existing reservation you can add a guest online once they are in Your Authorized Guests list.  Your guests can authorize you by creating a Sixthman profile here, or logging in to their existing profile. In the Guest Permissions section have them add your username to their Approved Lead Passengers list. You can then login to your profile and they'll appear in Your Authorized Guests list so you can add them to your reservation! 

To let let someone add you to their reservation, you'll need to have a Sixthman username and add your lead passenger to Your Approved Lead Passengers list.  Create a Sixthman profile here, or login to your existing profile.  Then, in the Guest Permissions section, click the "Add New Lead Passenger" button and enter your lead passenger's username.  Once you save it, they'll appear in Your Approved Lead Passengers list.  You're all set, the lead passenger can now add you as a guest in their cabin!

3) How do I create or update my Sixthman account?

4) When will I receive our Cruise Documents / Tickets?

All guests will receive a Reservation Number approximately 4-6 weeks prior to the date of your departure date. The Reservation Number email will contain both your CONFIRMATION NUMBER (issued by Sixthman) and your RESERVATION NUMBER (issued by the cruise line) and a link to complete your "E-Documents” and print them out. Each person in the cabin must have his or her own E-Document printed out. These documents are your boarding passes and will be necessary to board the ship.

5) Registering with cruise line?

All guests are required to register with the cruise line to confirm their information prior to boarding the ship. Once you receive your RESERVATION NUMBER from Sixthman (approximately 4-6 weeks prior to the departure date), you can register at the cruise line’s website and reserve Shore Excursions, Spa Appointments, Transportation to & from the port etc. Sixthman will send more details and instructions via email 4 – 6 weeks prior to sailing.

6) When can I purchase shore excursions?

While visiting ports on your cruise itinerary, the cruise line offers a variety of tours and activities to you for an additional fee. Guests can purchase these in advance online to guarantee their spot or they can purchase them onboard the ship. Guests may book online by registering with the cruise line using the following links. You may need your Reservation Number, the Ship Name and/or the date of sailing to login.

7) What time does the ship DEPART on the day of sailing?

Your cruise will depart approximately at 4pm local time on the day of departure and all guests are required to be onboard 2 hours prior to departure time. Please plan to arrive to the port no later than 2pm local time.

What time does the ship RETURN on the day of arrival?

The ship is scheduled to arrive approximately at 8am local time on the day of arrival. Once docked the ship must begin the immigration process of clearing thru Customs & Boarder Patrol Agency. Guests can expect to be able to start getting off the ship at approximately 8:45am local time. We advise all guests to book flights that depart NO EARLIER than 12:00pm local time to allow for delays in arrival.

8) Are there Hotel or Flight discounts?

Guests are encouraged to visit their event website and select “Getting There” to educate themselves on the Hotel and Port locations. Any group hotel rates that Sixthman has secured will be listed there.  Sixthman does not secure flights for guests due to the volatility of prices throughout the year. We advise our guests to make their own arrangements to arrive to the ship and we will welcome you and take great care of you once you arrive.

9) Getting to and from the port from the airport?

Ft. Lauderdale Note: All cruisers flying into the Fort Lauderdale Airport and traveling to the Miami Cruise port need to plan for approximately 45 minutes travel time between ports.

Taxis: We've found that Taxis offer the best value and convenience for guests traveling to and from the port to the airport. Rates vary per city, but on average taxis are $24 flat rate (for up to 4 people) while a bus or shuttle is $15-18 per person each way and involves waiting on the bus or shuttle to be full before leaving.  Taxis from Ft. Lauderdale airport to the Miami seaport will be approximately $50.

Cruise Line Shuttles: Norwegian offers shuttle service from the Miami and Ft. Lauderdale Airports to the Miami port, as well as return shuttle service. Transfers reserved 10 or more days before the cruise can be purchased for $15 per person each way from MIA and $20 per person from FLL.  Transfers reserved at the airport on the day of sailing or on the ship for a return shuttle can be purchased for $20 per person for MIA and $25 per person for FLL.  You can purchase a Norwegian transfer tickets once RESERVATION NUMBERS have been issued 4 to 6 weeks prior to sailing by calling Norwegian at 866-931-6743.

10) Are there any Pre-Cruise Activities?

Sixthman does its best to secure a location for guests arriving the evening before to gather and mingle with other cruisers. The pre party is often located at a restaurant or bar close to the port. The exact location and information will be included in your monthly e-mail updates as we get closer to the event. We try to have the emails out between 2 to 4 weeks prior to sailing.

11) Canceling a reservation?

If you need to cancel your reservation, we ask that the Lead Passenger please contact Sixthman at 877–749-8462.

Please note that all payments for events not currently under a line-up guarantee are 100% non-refundable, with the exception of guests with insurance canceling for a covered reason. Please read below for more information on how to purchase travel insurance.

NOTE: If you have purchased insurance through Sixthman, please cancel your reservation through us and then contact Travel Insured International at 866-684-0218 and place a claim. Let them know that you have purchased a Sixthman insurance policy and have canceled your reservation with us. They will ask you to send them proof of cancellation as well documentation for the reason you have canceled. It can take anywhere between two to six weeks to receive your refund.

Insurance Information

We do recommend that our guests purchase travel insurance, as all payments made for your reservation are non-refundable due to our obligations to the cruise line. We offer two types of Travel Insurance for our guests. “Cancel For Any Reason” which allows you to (cancel for any reason necessary), or a "Basic Policy" to cover major items like (Emergency accident, Emergency Sickness, or Accidental Death).

Insurance may be added at the time of booking. “Cancel For Any Reason” insurance is not available more than 21 days after booking. Insurance added more than 21 days after booking does not include cancellations for work reasons or pre-existing medical conditions. We are happy to help you price a policy to meet your needs and most range from $60 - $238.50 per person depending on the type of Policy you select and the cost of your vacation.
