Turn on your Red Light

Picture 6Anyone who has ever driven by a Krispy Kreme Restaurant has probably noticed the neon light that says “HOT NOW”.  It’s hard enough not to pull in but when this light is on it makes it almost impossible.  Just the image of a couple warm doughnuts rolling down the belt ready to melt in your mouth and be chased down with a cold glass of milk is to much for us mortal men to resist.  When you see the sign, you know that the ball is in your court and a couple of simple actions on your part will complete the story with a happy ending (short term anyway).  What was wrong with the image of the doughnuts sitting in a box ready to take home?  Someone had to make me visualize that if I don’t pull in right now, those poor doughnuts are going to drop right into the trash can.  What’s next…a “save the doughnut t-shirt”?

I THINK IT IS GENIUS and I would like to figure out what Sixthman’s “RED LIGHT” opportunity is.

So how do you put the ball into your customers court like Krispy Kreme does?

Prepare for them to drive by and know when they are most likely to be craving your product, even if they don’t realize it?

How does this apply to us?  When and where are you when you realize “Damn, I need a great vacation!”

At work in a boring meeting?  Scraping ice off your windshield so you can drive to work? Watching the Corona commercial where they throw their phone into the ocean?  At a concert?  On a bands website?

Inspire us to prey on you…..

PS.  I will send a Sixthman shirt to anyone who sends me a picture with them eating a doughnut next to the “Hot Now” sign this week.

    They don’t have Krispy Kreame in Indy anymore. But I’m not opposed to flying (yes, I said flying) to Atlanta to take my picture just so I can get the Sixthman t-shirt.

    We’ve planned out vacations around live music the last several years. Whether it’s our annual trip to Atlanta, a quick trip down the road to Cinci or L’ville or the big daddy, The Rock Boat, it’s all about the music. So when I think I need a vacation the most is when I am craving the live music experience.

    Sometimes I can get my “fix” here in Indy, but I like a lot of the regional rock bands that TRB has introduced me to. They typically don’t come through Indy, so I’m always looking to get my “fix” by taking a quick road trip or an extended weekend some place. So I save my vacation days for TRB and my quick concert road trips.

    So if I’d never been on TRB before, I would say you could grab my attention at a concert.

    Netflix flyers. Whenever I’m watching a movie, that means I would rather be somewhere else.

    Whenever we go to see a concert(and we see a lot) and get to talk to people some way or the other we mention Cayamo and how much fun it is( we have been on both I and II and have booked the third)

    One way to get people’s attention to your Cruises would, in my opinion, be to distribute some kind of flyer after all concerts of each participating artist. This way you give their fans (old and new) the oportunity to think about booking a vacation and to see their favorite artist (together with a host of artist they will probably like too) twice or three times life in a week with the opportunity to bump into that artist in the buffet line or elsewhere.
    If you are a real fan how can you resist that.
    Most artist’s website do have Cayamo listed on their website, but I think that the combination of just having seen a life performance and a well presented flyer will be more likely for people to take notice and get excited.
