@LilRed - I was coming here to post that exact thing. Except try being 4'10"... the ONLY saving grace is that I can buy kids sized chucks which are cheaper and have cooler designs :P

I've been doing that. My beef is that, as a tall person, to make up for the fact that I hit my head a lot and can't get comfy in car or airplane seats, I should be able to find jeans that are the correct length.

OK. Rant over. Moving on to more productive things, like stretching my belly so I have room for everything Taste of Chicago has to offer.

Just a tip for all of you, I know it seems like a pain, but it's only a few dollars to go to a tailor and have them hemmed to your perfect size. I know it sounds extravagant, but growing up with a grnadmother who was a seamstress helps me remind myself when I have these problems that a fix is usually easy and not too pricey. I have the long leg issue, regulars are too short even in flip flops, and longs require 4 inch heels to not hang on the floor.... I pay my local tailor $4 to hem them, and it supports a local small business that seems to be endangered.

I wish the fashion industry would size women's pants like they do mens. Standard waist measurements and length measurements. It seems like sizes are all relative these days. That would make the (fashion) world a better place!

Babs, I have the same problem with jeans. For a long time I wore guy's jeans because the measurements were more exact. And then one day I looked in the mirror and realized they look stupid on girls.

Now the ones I've found that fit the best are at Gap...either the Long and Lean or Curvy Straight styles. Both in Long.

Ok, so you're tall, 5'9" is impressive. But what about us that are 5' period. Try finding anything short enough. The skirts that show as mini's on you, show as maxi skirts on me. I can buy capri's and wear them as long pants. Now some people would tell me to just shop in the little girls department. Actually, I have, for slips, etc. But at my advanced age, hmmm, don't ask, I would rather not look like a 10 year old. And, they may be short enough, but unless I lost about 100 more lbs, they are too skinny. I tried shopping at 5-7-9, the store for petites. That was funny, as I may be short, but no one ever said short equates with small. I'm healthy, not huge, just not tiny. As for shoes, didn't the shoemakers ever hear that "normal" size women like cute shoes too. That would be us that are short, but big feet! And wide feet! I spent my summers growing up running barefoot everywhere and the feet just kept spreading. So shoemakers, ask us real women what we need. Please!
