my favorite memory was getting kissed by John in the disco the first night and told that I looked fabulous for 40. What a great way to have started the cruise after that I was flying high. THanks to Scott the security guard who told him that he took my seat and that I did not get a patrone shot and it was my 40th birthday, hence the kiss. Thank god my neice was next to me to document it. Hanging out with Andys Dad Jim was awesome also and the the boys from NY and Melissa and Jen and oh of course Jay tay and Beaner. See you all next year it can not come soon enough.

My favorite memory was when I bumped into John Mayer as he was returning from a private party. I stopped and asked him for a photo and got to talk with him for about 30 seconds. Of course, I had to instantly upload that picture to my facebook despite the ridiculous internet rates on the ship. But it was worth every penny. My two other favorie times on the Mayercraft was when he played his acoustic set on the 1st day (great concert) and when I got to see Justin Nozuka talk about song-writing and play his music for a small group of us.

I had been waiting for MCC since June last year and it was totally awesome! My sister and I were probably the only Brazilians on the ship and I can say that flying for more than 12 hours from Brazil was more than worth it!! I could not believe my eyes when John came and played on the Lido Deck! Count me in for next year!! \o/

Well I jumped this year from Ship and Ship 5 as a Double dipper to MCCII. I find myself wondering who is John Mayer?? Ed Robertson from BNL greeted Every Passinger as they bordered the ship . On Ship and Dip I We got pictures of ourselves with the band as we boarded the boat! I must admit I did see John Mayer sing a few songs on the sail away show ...from afar but then he was MIA. I did catch the John Mayers concert performance (show one )but( my bad )the venue was so crowed I left to see OAR playing live on the Lido deck. I really enjoyed Guster and OAR doing the artist vs artist trivia but where was John .I also had a blast watching Flip cup with OAR and Guster but where was John? The best memory of the MCC Cruise was after the Guster concert at 10pm. All the bands kept Jaming .The entire night was a blast .I guess John must have missed it being in his room and all .What a disappointment . Hey Sixthman The best part of the Musical "theme" cruises is living with your favorite artist for a few days .You know ...seeing them getting food on the buffet line or seeing them show up on stage with the other artists.Seeing John popping in on Karaoke with Ryan Shaw would have been a blast. Anyway I guess you get the idea .I was disappointed with John but I really enjoyed Guster OAR Ryan Shaw Justin and and Brendon James .(John Mayer Being (MIA)and all. I would spend all that money again to see the "Guster Craft Carrier guys" . John Mayer was a cute little sideshow. Please take in account for your next Cruise That we the "working persons" with an economy crisis and recession crisis have a very limited budget.Even the music lover must reasonably decide our musical / vacation options.

I'm bummed I forgot to send my story into Steve! Dagum! At any rate, I'll leave it here...
This was my husband and I's second voyage on the Mayercraft Carrier...we didn't think it could improve on last year but it did...
Now being a LONG TIME Mayer fan...there's not much that guy does that doesn't have me screaming with delight and the Captain Stubbing outfit as we left port was no exception. Noone wears a pair of short shorts (or a mankini for that matter) like JM. Aye Aye Captain Mayer! His lido deck show was amazing...I loved that he acknowledged his (ahem) performance last year and told us he was making up for it. It's okay John...we forgave you, you had us at "I gotta take a piss, I'll be right back". His stand up in the El Morroco lounge was perfection, even though it's being grossly misquoted in all the rags! Seeing John up on deck while the rest of the boat was in Cabo was awesome too...he was right behind my lounge chair getting his picture taken with some beautiful girl in a bikini...unfortunately, I didn't have the kahones to stand up and ask for a pic with him while in my swimsuit...who can follow the hottie in the bikini? :o( Oh well, I'd get my chance later on at his show...
OAR was unreal...I am a forever fan now. I came home and promptly downloaded everything they've got on ITunes and my husband getting to meet Marc and tell him "dude, the party's in the disco tonight" was definitely one of his favorite moments.
Now I always choose the second JM show...I'm not sure why. I guess somewhere in my mind I think, hmmm...maybe he'll do something spectactular for the second show. Silly me, he does something spectactular EVERY show! My goal on this cruise was to get the coveted "pit pass" for the show. I've been to about 8 of John's shows and NEVER had the opportunity to sit or stand up close enough to get my hands on a pic...that's all I wanted...a measly little pic. I was on a quest...I would get that pit pass! I spent the better part of Sunday and Monday asking everyone I could about the pit pass. I heard from my new friend, Sarah Brown of General Hospital fame, who was also on the ship, (that's Claudia Zacchara for fellow GHers) that you get the pit pass from the "ticket fairy". who was this ticket fairy and why hadn't I met her? My efforts were unrewarded until...showtime! I was talking to one of the Sixthman Staffers about whether or not people would crowd the aisle this year like they did last year (thank you for not allowing that by the way!) when a couple came up to her asking if they couldn't use one of their pit passes if they could give it to a girl they had met at dinner. I proceeded to tell them, "I'm a girl and I had dinner!" They laughed and were told by the Sixthman Staffer that giving the pit pass to someone else was no problem. I told them, "If you can't find her...I'd love to be in the pit". I then proceeded to tell them that I'd been on a quest to get a pit pass and that it would be UNREAL if I would get that wish fulfilled! They laughed and agreed that if they can't find her they'd let me have it. I went back to my husband in our fourth row seats and told him the saga. He then said, "Amy! Get over there and beg for that pit pass! How bad do you want this?!" He was right...I then went up to the wife, who was already in the pit and her name is Paula (HI PAULA!) and just gently reminded her where I was in case her husband didn't find the girl from dinner...Paula (my wish fulfiller) then waved her husband over and said, "You know what, he's not going to find her...lets just give it to you" At this point I pretty much lost control of my faculties...screamed and hugged Paula and her husband violently! My hands were shaking so badly I couldn't even put the pit pass on! Needless to say...it was the GREATEST JOHN MAYER SHOW I'VE EVER SEEN thanks to Paula. The best part was when I screamed out (while JM was switching guitars) "I FREAKIN' LOVE YOU JOHN MAYER!" and he answered back, "I LOVE YOU TOO!" LOL!!!! Top ten life moment right there! Paula and her hubby have some serious karma points coming. They made my year! The bad part now is that I will never again be able to see another John Mayer show anywhere but the pit or at the very least on the floor VERY close to the stage. Oh, and by the way...my husband caught me my pic!!!! Man! What a trip! I can't WAIT till MCC3! Thanks Andy and the Sixthman Crew (Andy, your dad is a crack up!) and thanks Mr. Mayer...you know how to throw on hell of a party!

This was my first trip on the Mayercraft Carrier, but hopefully, not my last! I went on this trip expecting to hear great music, travel to a country I had never seen before and have an overall enjoyable vacation. I did all of those things...but the best thing that happened to me was meeting people and making new friends. Some of my favorite memories with these new friends include:

1) Sara becoming a celebrity herself as Elphaba. John got a look at her after heading out of the Red Carpet Club and said, "Whoa!!" Ryan Miller from Guster just HAD to get a photo with her. People were randomly stopping to chat with her and take photos everywhere she went. Sara - you crushed it. Nice one!

2) My six degrees of separation from Michigan's own Mike. I accidentally blinded him with my flash in the club...but now he has a photo with John Mayer. The drink that somehow got passed to me to give to JM. The crowd was a good 8 people deep, so it got passed up by several folks in front. I didn't actually MEET Mike until our shore excursion in Cabo! It wasn't until we started chatting that we realized how many times we had bumped/not bumped into each other. Glad that we're finally friends.

3) Dining on crickets (yes, true story), shooting cheap tequila and partying until the wee small hours of the morning with Missy & Stacey. Not only are these two sisters some of the nicest, smartest folks I've met, they know how to party. I'm glad to know both of them and hope we get together again soon.

4) Christine getting her one-on-one time with John. I'm taking this woman to the casino with me, because she is one lucky chica! Got her jeans signed by JM, got her photo with him, AND got my ticket signed by him. She hit the trifecta, and it made her trip and mine awesome.

5) Robin and the Mayercraft Carrier room door - I can't draw a stick figure on a good day. Robin managed to recreate the Carnival boat and a desert island (complete with a mankini) in the limited space of a stateroom door. That's what I call some artistic flair!

There are many more stories, and many laughs shared, but this blog is only so long! Know this: I'm in for MC3 - Alaska! ;-)

Sara - Holy crap, that was you in the bright green body paint?! I'm sure you don't remember me specifically, but you remember the whole crew that partied w/ you a couple of nights in the Disco w/ Robin, Storm, Jesus, and nameless others superheroes coming by to visit.

Glad to hear you had a great time and was celebrating such a good cause. We were celebrating my brother's return from Iraq ourselves.

Hope to see you next year!
