So I know the guys from Barenaked Ladies tell you that you never know what’s gonna happen on this cruise…but I want to make some predictions anyway.  If you’re reading this now, it means I’m already getting ready to board the ship and begin this six-day adventure in the Caribbean.  Let’s do it…

I fully expect to:

-Spend WAY too much time wondering what three songs Bruce Springsteen will play at halftime tonight during the Super Bowl.  I think we’ll hear Born to Run, something from his album that just came out…and maybe, the Rising? Dancing in the Dark? Glory Days? THUNDER ROAD???  What will you play Bruce?  What will you play!?

-Not care one bit about the actual game, because my beloved Patriots couldn’t even make it into the playoffs at 11-5.  Good thing I’m over it.

-See at least one naked person, and I will not be attending the naked photo.

-Have my eyes fog up during Sarah McLachlan’s performance.

-Get lost on the boat multiple times, because it’s my first trip on Norwegian Cruise Lines.

-Hang out with Patrick and Twigger of Gaelic Storm WAY too late into the night.

-Win money at the craps table…come on positive karma! You were desperately missed on the Rock Boat.

-Get to spend some quality time with my sister!  She’s the first family member of mine to get to see what I do for work, so I’m glad she’s coming on as a volunteer.  Get ready Em!

-“Accidentally” write my name once or twice on the sign up sheet to play drums in Rock Band.  “Weird! How’d that happen?” is my planned reaction.

-Be blown away by band that I hadn’t heard before.  This is the boat with the most unknown artists on it for me, and I’m glad that I get to discover some new music.

-Probably cry from laughing too hard at the ridiculous humor of Ed and Steve.  Quick story, last year I ended up on a bus with these guys in Jamaica heading to the beach, and there was a young girl on the bus who was supposed to give us a tour of the island as we drove along.  Well, Ed decided that she wasn’t saying enough, so he stole the microphone and proceeded to make up his own tour in a Jamaican accent for the rest of the trip.

-Have a damn good time.

And away we go!

Steve
