Time Flies 2So—WOW, another year gone by.

It never ceases to amaze me—how fast it goes. When I really start to freak out about it, I slow it all down in my mind. Although I feel like 1990 was just yesterday, in reality a WHOLE LOT has happened since then. A whole lot. There’s been cross-country moves, train rides through Europe, new jobs, old friends, babies (not mine!), my very own Olympic experience, pitfalls, breakthroughs, improbable championships (right, Steve?), glider rides, earth shattering love, parents in need, music festivals, the Caribbean, and so much more. SO much more. I could go on and on.  Couldn’t we all?

So why feel antsy about “life passing me by”?  Maybe it’s conditioning. Maybe I move too fast in the day to day, one day it’s Monday, next thing it’s Friday, over and over again. And slowly, it all becomes a blur.  Therefore, my New Year’s resolution is to simply notice.  The day.  The flowers.  The energy.  The sun.  Notice it all.  Take a step back, take a breath and be mindful of the moment, everyday, as much as I can.  One of my good friends tells me; “Life is long Carla”.

I just want to make sure I enjoy the ride while I’m still on it.  HAPPY NEW YEAR!

A quote I heard and have used before from an unknown author:

"Life is like a roll of toilet paper. The closer to the end, the faster it goes!"

Maybe we can have an impact on that!
